If These Patios Could Dress: Outfits Inspired By Our Favourite Guelph Patios

Sunshine, drinks, and friends: patio season is here.

Now that everyone is officially following the clock of summer, it's time to venture out and explore all of the great patios of Guelph. As diverse and unique as our city is, so too are the different patios in downtown Guelph. From the coffee shop to a fancy date night, there is a patio for each occasion. And with that, there is also a wardrobe to go with it. So we thought, why not plan some awesome outfits around the patios we love hopping to and from (maybe in the same night) in our downtown?

Miijidaa: The Canadian Patio

Since they're the friendliest neighbours we could ever imagine having, we've become frequent visitors to Miijidaa's patio. With their famous long wooden table, you can fit lots of good company on the patio. Plus with their sangria, local beers, and lots of good ol' Canadian grub, what could be better?

In honour of all that is Canadian, our outfit for Miijidaa features Canadian-made brands. For the women, we've been loving Meemoza's Daisy dress with its pops of colour and preppy look. For the guys, we love our OOM t-shirts - their unique graphics easily add interest to an outfit.

Buon Gusto: The Fancy Italian

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, you find amore on the Buon Gusto patio. With almost a 360 degree view of St. George's Square, you and your date can see all of the happenings of downtown Guelph while partaking in some amazing Italian cuisine. Known for a more dressy occasion, Buon Gusto is the perfect date night when you feel like dressing up for one another.

To reflect this dressier occasion, we've picked classic pieces and added a touch of flare. For the ladies, we paired our Toad & Co Chambray Top and Striped Skirt with our 100% silk Artisan of Angkor scarves. For the gentlemen, we've paired our comfy Atelier B. dress pant with our favourite Toad & Co button down this season. With an outfit made of 100% cotton, you'll be able to stay cool, and look cool, while out with your love.

Red Brick: The Conscious Artisan

When we think of the Red Brick Cafe's tucked away patio, we think of it as a modern day salon where artists and writers get together to share their passions. But with their fair trade coffee and organic grub, we know all the artists share in keeping things good for the earth, and good for our community too.

That's why we've featured for the ladies Fred & Bean's upcycled boyfriend tank. Made in Arthur, Ontario, Fred & Bean takes recycled materials (like men's button downs) and turns them into new trendy gems. Plus, this outfit will keep you cool on the patio. For the fella, we picked United by Blue's pocket tee with Prana's chino. Both of these brands are pioneers in eco-friendly, organic clothing production, so you know that like all that offered at Red Brick, you're clothing is being kind to our friendly earth.
