So give us a little bit of the story behind why and/or what got you into local businesses and civic engagement…
I have spent several years in a variety of capacities as a communications, government relations and management professional. I've developed thorough knowledge of working with member driven organizations having served in various capacities throughout the Chamber network. I have an extensive knowledge working with business, government and community.
What have you loved so far about being a part of Guelph’s Chamber of Commerce?
Guelph is a diverse and dynamic community. What I have enjoyed the most about being a part of the Guelph Chamber has been the opportunity to see the unique elements of the community and play a role in helping to grow business and community prosperity.
What are you looking forward to seeing develop in our downtown community?
A great downtown is one that is animated with entertainment, events and a strong mix of culture. I'm really looking forward to seeing further developments in not only our entertainment industry, but also in food and beverage.
If you could give Guelph the perfect slogan… what would it be? Why?
Resilience – Guelph is a community that is both adaptable and fast moving, its capacity to be resilient in the face of a variety of externalities is remarkable.
If you could give yourself advice when you first started working in your community, what would you tell yourself?
There are so many unique places within the natural landscape of Guelph. I wished when I was starting to get get involved in the Royal City that I spent more time biking the trails around Guelph Lake.
